200 4r troubles

1987 200 4r br coded valve body had a transgo shift kit installed a few months back was working great until i noticed when i put it in drive gear it does not shift to 3rd gear, only 1st and 2nd in drive gear, in overdrive gear it shifts 3 times only no 4th gear, any ideals played with tv cable no dice,in 2 it only shifts once also not sure what it going on.

In O.D. it's only suppose to shift 3 times. In 2nd it's only suppose to shift once.

This trans is a 4 speed right? in the overdrive selection right after nuetral it is suposed to shift 4 times right ?and in the drive selection right after overdrive it is suposed to shift 3 times right? im confused now

Once in D4 with the engine running it should shift 3 times: 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 on normal acceleration until you are in 4th. In D3 it should be 2x: 1-2, 2-3

Im not sure if i understand what youre saying 1-2-2-3-3-4 what i feel is only 3 shifts in overdrive the fist hard shift (tires chirp) the second shift real firm the 3rd shift kinda firm nothing after that so i only feel 3 in overdrive i use to be able to feel 4 around 55mph laying on it now i only feel 3 Im totally confused i use to "feel" 4 shifts before in od in drive i felt 3 now only 2 am i going nuts here

The TCC apply may feel like a shift. What is your cruise rpm at 60 mph.

+1 Maybe your torque converter isn't locking.

lol never noticed but around 2000 or so the speedometer is busted

So all in all the first hard shift that chirps tires is no doubt second gear maybe this is where im confused, i that it was first gear but it is coming out of first into second :frown:

Yes.
Here are the minimum throttle shift speeds for a BR code trans:
1-2 14mph
2-3 22mph
3-4 43mph

...and part throttle kickdowns:
4-3 53mph
3-2 46mph

...and coast down:
4-3 37mph
3-2 37mph
2-1 11mph
