200-4R Upgrades and Tips?

I've got a 700R4 in my 84 Grand Prix, the lock up controller of which you speak was accomplished with a toggle switch, I control when it goes into lock up, and the way this car is geared, I'm only pulling about 1700 RPM at 80 MPH, and gets awesome highway mileage.
 
I bought a CZ unit out of a Monte Carlo SS for my Small block Corvette. He said he wasnt happy with the shifting and sold it for $100.

I put it in as is and it had a 3rd gear flare. (my car only has about 325hp)

I put in a CK Performance recalibration kit and his competition servo. Granted this is a weekend car but between the servo and the increased pressure of the kit, it hasnt had a problem since. I bought a spare trans to rebuild as a spare but haven't needed to worry about it.

That said, you might check the size of the servo and mic the boost valve too to see what you have.
