I have a 200-4R in a '56 Chev. MCSS valvebody, servo, governor, TCI Saturday night Special stall, Trans Go HD2R kit and Art Carr alum. pan with 700R filter.

Trans runs fine, shifts good, and kicksdown nice. :)

My question is- I now have a 327/300hp engine infront of it and could use some updating and freshening up this winter. If I would go to a 383 stroker, has not been dynoed, but is to be about 450 hp. 450 tq. range? (ballpark, definately more than my 327).
What parts "MUST" be done to the trans to last behind the 383?

This is used on the street, no strip, shows and cruise nights. Of course the peridically "Drive it like you stole it":D

What do you pros here recommend?

Thanks, any help experience or opinions appreciated.

I built one for a customer last year. He wanted a billet shaft forward drum so i used one and dual fed it. It has a CK recalibration kit with plate in it an super servo. I used a KC vb with a BR gov and it shifts at 6100 at WOT with his AC converter. Its an 11.0:1 383. Not 450hp but probably around 400hp. 450/450 is not easy for most to achieve with a 383.
