I own a 83' V8 Regal.

after the engine living its life, I'm putting in a Small Block Chevy 350.

For one question.. Exactly WHAT tranny is in my car right now??? 1983 V8 Buick Regal, TH ___?

With the 350 going in instead of the smaller V8, I was thinking about my tranny. And a friend of mine will sell me a TH 200 R4 tranny w/ 30k original miles on it. For $50.

Can the 200 r4 bolt up to the chevy 350 and fit in my car?

Thanks for the help.

200-r4 has dual bolt patterns...will fit behind the Chevy as well as BOP...

As for what's in your car now??? what does the oil pan look like(shape) and how many bolts??? Square oil pan??? Does it say metric on the pan??? etc...

83 probly dont have the mounting location for the 2004r crossmember on drivers side

but you can make it work just look under a newer g-body and you'll see what im talking about

probably... that leaves a hope for me ;)

Thanks for the help!, I'll look at the oil pan and numbers and such, and let you guys know what I find.

Doh, lol.

I found a similar site to that yesterday, but it had to mentionin between the TH250 and the TH350.

It sucks, cause my tranny will be either a 350 or a 250. Anyone know how to tell the difference between the 2 besides the oil pan?

The 250's have a Band adjusting screw on the pass. side of the tranny. It looks like a 3/8's stud sticking out with a nut on it.
And usually, the 250 oil pans are galvanized metal looking.
