First of all, I'm happy to join this forum! I need some help in identifying what's in my car so that I can determine what to upgrade my speakers to. I plan to keep the factory stereo -- AM/FM radio, CD Player, Cassette, Bass/Mid/Treble Equalizer, Front/Rear Fader.
Here's what I know: 1) lower door speakers are 6-3/4" 4 Ohm, 2) I'm assuming the upper corner door tweeters are also 4 Ohm, 3) rear speakers are 6"X9" 8 Ohm.
I'm trying to find out: 1) if the rear speakers are driven by separate amps (4 channel amp?), or if they are simply in parallel with the front speakers, 2) if the tweeters are in parallel with the 6-3/4" front speakers (assume so), 3) if the rear speakers are midrange/bass only or full range (just 2 wires connected to each one)
Thank you in advance.
