I have built a new engine for my 1982 G-body Cutlass (H.O 305) and I am doing some research on prospective transmissions. I have both a 2004R (mid 80s), and 700R4 (1988) gathering dust in the shop, and through a friend, access to numerous 4L60Es.
I am interested in the pro's and con's of each of these transmissions. I am leaning towards the 4L60E as I have read a number of good articles dealing with this transmission. In its stock form, it appears to be a fairly reliable transmission. The big cost of going this route will be the cost of the controller, but... "There are costs, and there are COSTS"
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
