Ok, I'm probably going to get my trans refreshed soon being as I just ordered a PTS 9x11 3000 convertor and have been reading about the filter modifications to help eliminate the cavitation problems with the stock filter which picks up from the top and changing it over to a 700 filter and new pan stuff.
I've read that PTS and Art Carr have a pan and filter setup and of course its changed a bit thru the years as I've read....
Can't find anything about it or a "package deal" on the PTS site to get a filter and pan.

Any input on this or links where it can be purchased would be appriciated. When this current tranny was built, it did have cavitation problems and had to be taken back apart by the builder and was fixed, but would like to do it right this time. It does have a slight flare of 200-300 rpms at the 1-2 and 2-3 shift, but that could be wear and tear causing it.

The PTS shallow and deep pans come with the filter sump kit that has the screen filter with it.

Sometimes they forget the gasket however.

Bought two shallow pan kits from them and they come complete, errr almost complete. ;)

Around $300.

Not sure why I couldn't find that on your site Bruce.
For either the shallow or deep pan, probably go with th shallow pan since this is a street/strip car...when I need to change the filter, what filter would be compatible with that pan, or is it something I can only get thru PTS? And how much are they if so?

I bought the shallow pan but have not installed it yet. I plan to install it very soon. I figured I would run the recent rebuild for a little while then change the fluid out. That's when I will change to the shallow pan.

PS, everything needed came with my order.

Hey Danny, if you come out to the track Saturday for the Buick race, would you mind bringing the pan so I could check it out? I kind of like the cast deep pans better, but would like to see that one in person before deciding.

I'm not sure if I will make it this Saturday, but if I do go I will bring the pan. I could also take some pictures of it and send them to you.

That works too Danny.
What kind of filter does that pan use?
Is it something readily available?
