I have talked to many people and weighed the options out for each tranny. The car will see the track mostly but I plan on driving to cruise nights and car shows. I was hoping if some of ya'll could post their experience with drivability of a TH400 on the street. And for those of you who are also running "bulletproof" 200's as well. Advantages, disadvantages, parts breakage etc.... At this point I'm leaning well towards the 400 because I know thats what belongs in the car. I'm just worried about spending a considerable amount of extra money for a built 2004r that can possibly break. TIA

You could do a search on this subject and come up with three nights worth of reading. This is one of those subjective questions that when asked of 10 different persons will yield ten different answers.

I'd use the 200r4, there are a lot of people running 10's and some running 9's with them. You shouldnt have a problem with a 200 in the low 11's. In the June issue of GM High-Tech, it features Rob Remers T-Type which runs 9's, and I dont believe he's had any trouble with it. There are certain parts which have a tendency to break, like the forward drum, or the input shaft. But if your willing to spend the money, that problem is easily solved with the line of billet parts produced for the 200's.
