2011 F150 EcoBoost

I drove a new EcoBoost truck. I really liked it! I have driven the 5.4 and this feels stronger for sure.

I know this is a old thread but I have a 2011 ecoboost F150 and when I picked up the GN it towed it like nothing was there. wish the trailer had brakes on it but was a rental from uhaul. put truck in tow mode and it used the engine as a brake when slowing down. Mine was one of the first ones off the line and I am not getting close to advertised MPG,better than my 5.4 . dealer is going to look at it again soon. Have had it since feb 2011 and only have 14000 miles on it 3 year lease with 15000 a year,I better start driving it soon to get moneys worth out of it. It does run like a rich pig. if I baby it a while then get on it ,will blow black crap out the exhaust like a diesel

Something needs attention... My ecoboost runs nothing like that.

The fastest Ecoboost F150 I've seen on the F150 forums is 14.18. That is with a CAI and exhaust. There still aren't any tunes available for the Ecoboost yet, darned encripted ECU.

There are tunes available now. Livornois (sic) motor sports has a ton of tunes available for the ecoboost v6's!
An aquantence of mine in MI regularly drag races his ecoboost Flex, with nothing more than a tune and meth he's now running 11.7's @ 110.
Keep in mind, that's in a 4800+ lb crossover!
I had a Dodge hemi ram try and take me on the other day! I'll bet he's still wondering what was in that big Lincoln crossover that just blew his doors off!

I have a 2011 F150 Ec0Boost with 36K on the clock and no issues so far. It's been a good truck so far. It's a FX4 average MPG is 18.

Mine is also a FX4 with max towing package.and just checked my trip A and haven't reset it in a while it reads 14.4mpg and trip B I reset before a trip and reads 14.0
Other then not getting the mileage I think it should be getting, it is a great truck

Ive had mine for about a year now, Absolutely love the truck. not great mileage for city driving but averaging 24 on the highway. looking into getting the Hearthrob 4" exhaust for it, claims to give you 39 HP at the wheels since Ford uses a regular exhaust from a 5 liter.

Do these have to run on 93 octane if so I'll keep my hemi that dynoed 385 and 400 torque on cheap 87 octane with 5 gallons of E-85

Then that is the sweetest deal going I have never owned a ford said I never Would but never say never! I may have to pick one of these up now! :)

My lifetime average is 15.4 with 34.5" mud terrains and mostly in town driving and frequent boosting. . I'm happy with that.

Guess I need to have a talk again with the service guy to see if they can test mine. Have to take it in next week anyway to have them replace the leather on the drivers seat, defective part

I think that is awesome considering the weight of these trucks. think i saw where my screw 4x4 is 5700lbs

My 2011 4 door 2WD is at 5800#'s on the scale with only me in it.

In the year I have owned it, the overall mileage is 15.9 according to the computer, and 1/3 of this mileage is towing my trailer with the race car that weighs 11,800#s total!

That mileage is better than the 2006 Dodge diesel it replaced.

The "comfort limit" when towing is 65MPH however, due to controlling the heavy load.

Only mod has been a Airaid upgrade filter and box which did seem to improve mileage, and have never needed to go to the dealer for any issue.

Oh, I guess you could say the air bag lift kit with compressor is an upgrade. :)

When I went to pick up the GN,on a alum. Uhaul trailer. I only got 15 MPG. I have asked the service write up person about it many times. Still don't think they ever plugged into it to see if anything is wrong. I do have the OBD2 bluetooth reader and nothing seems out of the ordinary. No codes or anything

Ford never had any luck with new engines for starters. They always wind up changing it over the years to hide the flaws from working in the real world and not on their controlled test tracks. I'd rather have the balls of a V8 GM under my foot that gets the same fuel economy as the Ecoboost no less!! If your going to tow with it your most likely going to have to run premium fuel and your going to be under boost all the time working the crap and heat soaking that little 6cyl to death. So I don't see any savings here. People think 6cyl and they think they are going to save 20 bucks every fill up and it's just not true with this truck. We all know what happens with our cars under boost and heat soaking them!! Here are some real numbers.

I looked at a few of them at my local dealer. Not impressed with that fuel mileage for their truck that is going to change the future. ONE MPG better then the GM v8. Really? That's sad. Plus the sticker on the ones I was looking at was over 43K. But then again I owned 2 new and 2 used Ford trucks over the years and all 4 were a pile of $hit! :)
2015 and the ecoboost is pretty much flawless and beating every V8's ass.
Livernois motorsports tuner and its really a wrap.. I just found this thread and how wrong you were sir. Carry on!!!
