Howdy from Bend Oregon...

I've got myself into a project that I'm having troubles with...

I'm looking for a flywheel for an (I think) 80-81 231 evenfire that I am swapping into a jeep project.

I ordered a Luk LFW131 flywheel for a 79 Century 231 but it does not fit. The holes on the flywheel are equally spaced while the holes on the crank flange are offset.

On the flywheel I have, the holes are 1.935" center to center.

The crank is 1.75" spacing between five of the holes with the remaining two spaces at 1.9205" and 1.649".

The crank casting is an 877.

I've called around to all of my local parts houses and they have no idea and cannot get the flywheel.

Any thoughts ideas or recommendations?

You will not have many options these days as a manual transmission flywheel for the old rear wheel drive Buick V6 is not a big seller.
Centerforce used to sell one under part# 700010 for Buick passenger cars. Summit Racing shows it as a non stocking item costing $387.95

i would imagine that jeeps would have been the most common use of a buick v6 and a manual trans. Is this a stock jeep project or you transplanting something odd?

@GNVAIR Thank you. I'll take a look at that one.

@INEEDAGN - I'm pulling the F134 out of the '53 CJ3B and plan to replace it with this V6 with an adapter from Novak or Advanced. Unfortunately I've already dumped cash into the engine rebuild.

If I were to go hit up junk yards, what would be the appropriate donor car for the flywheel I'm looking for?

Ok, think I got it resolved. I called TA Performance and they offer a 231/3.8 Evenfire flywheel for symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns. $315.00 + s/h. I'll update when it comes in.
