What are your airbag pressures?
keep the tires up around 16-18 psi on the stock rim. Pressures below this the tire will act like a deflated basketball. It will hook initially, but then unhook as it spins round. On a wider rim, you might be able to get away with 12 psi, but on a narrow rim it will cup in the center.
Took out my airbags a while back and got a spohn anti-roll bar. I've tried the following tire pressures: 27, 25, 16, and 12 psi. When It broke loose with 12 psi I did notice that the center of skid marks was a lot lighter than outer edges. It was one solid thick black mark with 16 psi. I see what your saying. Like I mentioned before in this thread, it hooked like hell on the street with a 7 psi transbrake launch @ 3200 rpm with 27 psi in the tires and no burnout. It's just since I added the alcohol and was able to crank it up 27psi that the traction has gone away.
