going to step up from a 9" slick to a 10.5 but my current rims are 7" draglites. anyone run this combo? is a bigger rim a must? will the slick still work properly even with the big bulge this combo will produce.

it will work, but will NOT work right, rim is too small, at least an 8in rim. will bulge so much most of the tire wont touch the ground, then most will lower tire pressure, then the car will be VERY loose past half track, dont even start on how much it will rub when turning............

I agree with the above statement. I run a 8.5" rim and it isn't wide enough. Most of the fast guys run a 10" wide rim with a 4.5" back spacing to give the best tire foot print. Don't bother going with a 10.5" tire without the correct width rim since the contact patch won't change considerably.

thanks for the replies guys. my good buddy"johnzaza" just offered the use of his 8.5" centerlines.:D

Who me?

I've been trying for a while now. Just need to get to the track more than twice a year I suppose. Actually maybe I should build a stock block. ;) BTW, I know the question wasn't for me. :)
