I made it to E-town tonight. My first attempt a few weeks ago yielded me a 13.4@100mph on a 1.92 60ft.

Tonight, the air was good. The only change to the car was a test pipe. Boost was unchanged and remained at 17psi on every pass. O2's are getting borderline with the test pipe at 750mV, KR is 0.9 max.

First pass...launched at 4psi, locked the convertor a split second after the 2-3 shift....

Third pass...launched at 6psi, slight push at line before launch, locked convertor same as other passes

Fourth pass..., locked the convertor at the line, staged at 5psi, launched (cut a .525 light) and BOOM! After a loud bang, the tranny started slipping very badly. I got it down the track, and into the pits. I tried to nurse it home, but after a few miles, I had it flatbedded to my house. There is about 3" of slack in the detent cable at the throttle body...could this have broken? Input shaft? I dunno'...

Anyway...it's kind of a bummer. I had let the car cool off for a few extra minutes on this last pass, and I went back to a 5psi launch. I think another .05 off my short times and I might see a 12.8.

Mods are as follow...
*Cottons 93 chip
*Postons air box base lid
*Billet inlet bell
*Convertor and fan switches
*160* stat
*Walbro 340 with hotwire kit
*Adjutable wastegate actuator...running 17psi of boost
*Test pipe
*235-60/15 DR's

I now need an adjustable FPR (or put on the 237 in my toolbox ;) ) and I have an RJC Powerplate. IMO, a little more fuel, the Powerplate and 19-20psi of boost and this thing would run a 12.5...if I get the tranny woes fixed. :(

Did you weigh the car there? Just wondering about what it weighs.

Don't know a thing about trannys could be the converter too I guess. Locked at the line is risky.

The scale was zero'd out tonight...3,656 with me (240+clothes/helmet) and 1/4 tank of gas, nothing removed from car (spare, jack, mats, etc.).

Whatever happened to the tranny would have happened sooner or later whether you were locking the converter or not. That's just the nature of racing. Mine lasted 6 seasons of WOT lockups and never broke anything (the stator and converter splines looked like hammer sh!t and the trans clutches showed some signs of burning)

I figured the test pipe would pick you up a few mph. When you get the trans sorted out, run a race chip and some race gas and you might be able to drop another .4 seconds. Then Improve the exhaust (with a hooker cat back, for example) and raise the boost to 20 psi and you will be very close to the 11's.

CONGRATS!!! Hope its nothing major :( That is one beautiful car. You'll be in the mid 12's before you know it. Addicting isnt it? :D

It does not matter locking at the line. There is no path to the TCC for fluid in 1st gear. Its Impossible for the TCC to lock in 1st. So, the only thing you gain by locking it at the line is when you get to second gear the TCC will lock.

Check that TV cable, it controls the pressure in the transmission and will destroy it if not properly adjusted. You can try resetting it, or see if it is broken. With slack as you described, I would suspect its part of the problem (if not the entire).

The only mods are those that I listed. Stock turbo, IC, DP, catback, injectors, etc.

after seeing your mods & times.. I am hoping my mods will take me to mid 13's & I will be happy..

At least your trans decided to take the winter off while the car waits out the snow..
