hello everyone i am new to this site and from what i have read here there is alot of knowladge here and i cant wait to tap into some it.

i have a dune buggy and i have the 3.8 early 80 motor in it.as it sits now i have a holly 500cfm and a stock cam with a weiland intake(my spelling suck sorry).
i am thinking about going turbo, but with this there are a few problems.
1.is there a air cooled turbo that dosn't need an intercooler.
2.if so what is the part #
3. blow off valve (i have no idea about this)

i am sure there will be more questions about this later but i think this is all my brain will be able to proccess at this time.

thanks for any help
Marty

You want an intercooler, colder air going into the engine means more Horsepower.
there is a lot to consider before you "stick" a turbo on the engine, will you go to an EFI setup? exhaust headers are different, fuel system is different.

A Blow off valve is a good idea if you have a manual transmission,

this is my issue i am not sure what will be the best bang for my buck.i was thinking carb but the efi is a better systerm i think.i was also considering going with an oe turbo setup off of a monte or regal

Don't bite off more than you can chew...

it's a lot of work, and the N/A 3.8 won't take much abuse.

if you dive into this and have the funds you should start with a Wrecked GN or TType and use the complete engine, turbo and computer

if not it'll cost a fortune to collect everything

Here is RJC's turbo buick powered sand rail... looks like a blast

wow that is awsome i do also have a 92 pontiac bonniville with the efi but i dont know if the bell housing is the same and the crank bolt pattern for the flywheel is the same if it is this may be the better way to attack this
