I made up a chrome 3" up pipe for my GN and it fits and looks great. I would like to sell these from my website but have a question. I know most up pipes have a lip on the end of them to keep the hoses from blowing off. I am using the Gates heavy duty green stripe hoses on this setup and have subjected them to many 20+ lb boost runs and haven't blown a hose off yet. Anyone else running an up pipe without those lips on the end?
I am using a 2.5" insert on the throttle body and on the end of the intercooler then putting the 3" hose over them. Obviously there is a small lip that the airflow has to contend with at the entrance to the throttle body but would it hurt the airflow? I would think that the increase volume of the pipe and the smoother bend would even things out but hey, I'm no airflow expert.
