I made up a chrome 3" up pipe for my GN and it fits and looks great. I would like to sell these from my website but have a question. I know most up pipes have a lip on the end of them to keep the hoses from blowing off. I am using the Gates heavy duty green stripe hoses on this setup and have subjected them to many 20+ lb boost runs and haven't blown a hose off yet. Anyone else running an up pipe without those lips on the end?

I am using a 2.5" insert on the throttle body and on the end of the intercooler then putting the 3" hose over them. Obviously there is a small lip that the airflow has to contend with at the entrance to the throttle body but would it hurt the airflow? I would think that the increase volume of the pipe and the smoother bend would even things out but hey, I'm no airflow expert.

Hey Mark,

I may be interested in one once you get the details worked out. I have an Accufab 65mm TB and the 3" pipe would would be nice instead of the reducer hose I have now.

As far as the flange, take it to a muffler shop along with a stock pipe and see if they could somewhat duplicate it. I'm pretty sure they can do a ball flange which would work fine.

Good luck with the new product;)

Bigger isn't better in this case. You would be better off running the 2.5"-3" nomex hose from Johns Performance on the throttlebody side. Would work OK with a 70mm TB.

I would make them in 2.5" size but my supplier can't get chrome pipes that small. Was just messing around in my shop and made this one up for my GN. Looks nice and fit great. Like I said, my main concern was having the hoses blow off since there is no lip on the ends. Can't have a muffler shop do anything to these as they are already chromed. Here's a pic of it installed on my car.

I like them , and was going to biuld on as soon as I get all the parts back where they came from on my motor. If you are selling them cheap enough I would take one. By the way engine bay looks good.

Mark,
I'd be interested. I have a 65 milli that would look great with that 3" pipe. Are you going to sell the hoses with it? Can you get the light blue hoses also?
