Can anyone shed some light on the 3-valve head currently for sale on ebay?

Take a closer look. They've only got 89 bolt holes. I seriously doubt they were made for any serious use, and especially not a SII setup.

Probably also an overhead cam setup (but hard to tell with the valve cover in place), because there isn't enough places for (all 6) pushrods to go up into the head.

guy is located in Flint, likely some prototype that never saw the light of day.

Sorry, that should have said "8" bolt holes, not 89.

Don't know where the 9 came from

It's the next key over, to the right of the 8. ;)

....

I didn't count the headbolt holes. When he said indy that is what my brain zoomed in on! Prob a good paper weight???

One of the Buick prototype cars had an engine with these heads on it. It was a mid engine coupe.... Maybe late 80's early 90's. Can't remember....

would make a 3.8 run like crazy

Imagine how much faster some would have gone with a set of these.

Pretty cool stuff, I wonder how much more secret stuff is out there.

Lot's of neat stuff out there. Example: 90's vintage SII aluminum blocks :D
