30 lbs of boost GT6131E!!!!!

I just put my powerstroke intercooler on and GT6131E turbo and decided to take it for a spin. When I hit it the boost needle maxed out my boost gauge at 30 psi. I had no knock when this happened and it just felt soo fast and when I punched it from 45 the tires would just roost. Today I finally had a chance to look at it and the hose going to my RJC boost controler blew off. I fixed it and then took it out and was boosting 25 psi. It just doesn't seem as fast. I thought the useful range of this turbo was only 25 psi. It could be just me, but it seemed way faster at 30, if I am not knocking is there a problem with running it higher like say 28 psi. My 02's max was only 1429 degrees that was only going up to 100 mph Do you guys think it is just me, or could it be faster over 25 psi. Thanks Scott

One of my 1st runs on the 6131e I did go on the 30psi mark but had no knock also.

I did almost the same times with the 30psi and at 25-26psi.

All you can do is go to the track and see how it does both ways...Also when you look at your track times don't just look at your 1/4 MPH but also look at your 1/8 MPH and some of your short times...For instance I have seen a car that would MPH the same at any boost level over 24, but the short times were much better with 28 psi and the car would be quick ET wise.

I was running race gas. I don't have the alky hooked up yet. I will do that this week hopefully. Thanks for the help guys. I guess I will have to wait until I hit the track to see for sure.

The thing to rember is that you DON'T know how much over 30# you had. It could have been 35, 40 or 45# of boost. Do you know the max boost of this turbo? I don't.
Ever 1# of boost is from 10 to 15 HP depending on many factors.
Just my thoughts about why 25# may seems slow.
