im about to swap my 86 regal with a 307 for a h/a turbo 6 out of a 85 t type, is this a do able swap or will this be a night mare?? i do not have a donor car but i have the motor and harness what else do i need??? i no i need a different fuel tank too, and currently the rusted out piece of **** on my 307 has a small leak now i dont want to leave it but i dont exactly want to put a new tank in there either if im only going to take it out for a different one soon anyway, my boss told me at work today that i could use the same fuel tank and just mount the pump to the frame rail, will that be ok?? anyway could one of u veterans please help me with this and guide me through it thanks much appreciated

Great project if you have most of the parts accumulated. Items include:

Fuel tank with internal pump and correct sump, fuel lines, brackets for the fuel lines to mount of frame rails (yes they are different), rear wiring harness to power the fuel pump, harness down the driver side with power for fuel pump. Different computer and replaing engine harness requires removing passenger side fender to change harness. If you have a Limited the heater box (deeper AC evaporator) may interfere with up pipe and changing #6 spark plug. I went ahead and changed the harness behind the dashboard to obtain the correct fuse block to power all the added components.

This is not even touching the weaker automatic transmission and 7 1/2 inch differential in your NA Regal that will probably not hold up to good running hot air Turbo charged V6.

I have converted one NA regal to a Turbo Regal so it can be done, with a lot of parts and persistence. Took me about 6 weeks working most evening for a few hours.

i know i gotta do rear and tranny lol, gonna buy those new from jegs or summit i got enough saved it aint that much wat tranny n rear u recomend for a ballsy daily driver? how about the undercarriage will the v8 stuff work when i order new parts ? when i order new parts from pst do i tell them its an 85 t type? im hyped for this project it sounds fun, i love this car i want to drive it every day for the rest of my life g body regals the sexiest car ever and turbo 6 the only way to go thanks for your help man

and what about the v8 radiator and heater core? also will i have to fabricate the mounts much its a limited vin y like it says urs was oh and theres only two harnesses i need?

Im in the middle of doing this myself into a 86 cutlass. These cars have 2 harnesses, the engine harness for sensors and fuel injectors and stuff. And the other harness for lights, horns, basic, wipers... The engine harness is the one you need to get from the turbo regal and install it into your regal. and also need to grab the fuse box from the turbo car for the fuel injectors, fuel pump, ecm...
The Radiator you can keep, you would need an 84-85 heater core because the outlet/inlet necks point out of the opposite way to clear the turbo. also make sure you get the v6 engine mounts that bolt onto the frame crossmember. these engine mounts are 2 peice, 1 mount bolts onto the engine, the other part bolts onto the frame, then these mounts bolts to eachother.

anything you need for this swap i have.probably 1 1/2 to 2 hours from you in connecticut

awesome what about the undercarriage?

if the 307 was mated to a 3speed tranny then u would need the crossmember for a 4 speed th2004r, and since your regal is an 86 then it should have the extra bolts holes for the other crossmember. Everything else is the same underneath beside the gas tank and you should already have 3/8 and 5/16 fuel lines, just make sure they are routed to the driver side of the engine crossmember because that is were the fuel filter - runs to the fuel rail and also fuel regulator return. Also if you are using the evapor canistor under the hood then u would need an extra line from that to your fuel tank for venting, but most ppl eliminate that and just have a vent line routed at the back of the frame out of the tank.
