Had a weird occurrence this evening. I went to our local cruise-in, and when I started the car to leave the engine started acting up something fierce. Barely able to run for a few seconds, then idling up to over 2500 for a few more seconds. And I had trouble getting down the road for about 3/4 of a mile. All this time the CEL was glowing, and I saw trouble codes 22 (low tps), and 34 (low/no MAF signal)(I have no MAF).
Then all of a sudden it cleared its self up and ran fine, but on the way home I noticed one other weird thing, as I was going through all the modes on the scanmaster, MAP was reading correctly and following properly, but..... BST was reading +3.5 when I was at about 20 inches of vacuum, and would go up to higher numbers as the manifold pressure increased, reading in the 20’s by the time the map was up to about 100 !!!!!
Got home shut the car off, and restarted and all was normal, even BST.
Oh, oddly enough I noticed that BA on the Transpro was reading a high 101 which was too high for our altitude here. It normally reads 96.5-97.5 but that also corrected its self on the restart.
I wonder what that was all about.
