Took my car out since it had been resting for the winter. when i got back their was was a loud squealing, i thought the alt was going bad but no it was coming from the fuel tank guess i need a new pump..

a pump usually gets real loud before it desides to die. least its making a noise

She's on her way out, that's for sure.

I've been through 3 of them with my TR, and they all do that same thing. They get louder and louder, then they quit working.

The next time mine goes (which is probably any day now) I'm going to put the stock pump from a Toyota Supra in the car. The Supra pumps are more powerful than the Walbro, quiet, and have OE reliability. They are a little more expensive than the Walbro (the lowest I've seen the Supra pump is $155) but this would make Walbro number FOUR on my car in the last 3 years. Walbro won't warranty them without some fee to tear the pump down and inspect it, so I'm not going to use them anymore.

Good luck, let us know what pump you go with and how it works out for you.

Turbo1962 - mine did the same thing last year. When I took it out, there was a small metal "thingy" and some shavings in the tank....ewwww....

what i noticed about walboros is if you run lower then 1/4 tank of fuel they get wierd and shorten their life spand. I recently swapped to twin Walboro F20000's which seems to be working alot better then my twin 340s. also noticed the smaller walboros dont live well over 70psi of fuel. the F20000 seem to be good for 100 psi. I noticed with the twin F20000s my IDC was alot lower then when i had the twin 340s

What about using single F20000s? i priced a Supra pump today 275.00 Full throttle has one that takes the place of the 340 for like 115.00 ?

Funny I had that happen to me right out of the box.High pitch then it locks and dies.

if you only need that amount of fuel then yes that should work for your needs.
