3800 SC in Sandrail

Hello,

I am currently running an 83 3.8 turbo in my sandrail and it runs great. For my next sandrail, I would like to install a 3800 series II SC engine in it. Is this feasible? Besides the engine and harness, what else would I need to make this work? What computer? Is it OBDII? I will run a VW bus 4 speed trans. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

3800 sandrail

Just purchased a sandrail with a 1995 3800 series I SC engine. I am looking for some technical info on modifying the ecm. The person I purchase the sand rail from used a 1998 obcii pcm with a custom harness from Jim's Performance. They also bypassed the Vats, knock sensors and added a 2 bar map sensor. The problem I am having is at high rpm under hard acceleration I get a popping from the intake. After looking at the spark plugs I think I am getting a lean condition. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
