I have a strongly built 2004R and has been good to me for 3 thousand dollars and 3 thousand miles. I made my first 11 sec pass on the tranny with the new motor, and then a week later, while driving the at 125mph I hit fuel shutoff, I slowed down, and made a right and the tranny would not shift until like 5K rpm at part throttle. When it did shift, it shifted poorly. It used to bark the 275 drag radials with no problem, but now it felt terminal. I coasted home and dropped the valve body- all is good. I even swapped the valve body out for another BRF I had from another Turbo Regal. Still, extremely poor acceleration and no shifting. The TV cable is attached, all springs are there, and when I move the shifter in and out of gear while not moving it engages hard, like it used to. I suspect that the converter has gone to join the greate converters in the sky. The D5 had 110K miles on it and was unrebuilt. Did I "balloon" it? I haven't checked the pressure on the lines in/out to the cooler. I am just gonna pull the converter, but before I do that, what do my symptoms sound like?
