With the tta it is hard to launch the car with boost. My 60 foot times are always around 2.1-2.2 with 12.38 et. I was thinking about a 50 shot out of the hole. Just for first gear. Has anyone ever tried this? If so would I have to lower the boost level and timing for first gear? Any info would be great.

A 50 shot should take you in the high 11's. Make sure you reduce at least 2-3 degrees of timing on whatever chip you are using now. Best thing to do is run the 50 shot throughout the whole race. A 50 shot will not hurt engine if chip has proper timing and make sure you got the fuel (good pump and injectors). Nitrous will make a hugh difference in the takeoff and the turbo will spool to full boost pretty fast. A wet system is what you will want to run.;)
 
I am thinking of doing the same thing for bracket racing. Using a 50 shot out of the hole so I wouldn't have to worry about staging and spooling and could just concentrate on the light. If I go that way, I'll put on a switch that will turn the NOS of at a set amount of boost such as 10# -12#'s. I don't think any adjustments to timing or boost would be necessary with this set up.
 
I am doing what you are talking about. I use a hobbs swich to turn it off at 15psi.I didn't like the 50 shot and went to the 75 shot fills better but I think I am going to call nos and get the pill size for a 100 shot.
 
Do you have to adjust your timing and boost in first gear?
How would I go about setting somthing like this up? Where can I get a hobbs switch from?
Any other info or tuning secrets would be great.

I didn't do any thing different in my tune.I got my hobbs switch at napa auto parts.You will have to ask for the book and find it your self but if I can find my reciept I will email you the part number.I only use the nos to spool the turbo so I am only spraying about 2 seconds.Thats why I didn't do any think to the tune.I also had it on the dyno last friday and it spooled about a 1000rpms fast spraying the 75 shot.It also showed a 80 hp gaine for till it reached 15psi then it went back to the same line the other pulls were.Hope this helps.
 
I was wondering if you can tell me how to hook up the hobbs switch to activate the nitrous.

I am using it to turn the nitrous off.I have a button to turn it on then at 15 psi it the hobbs switch turns it off.Are you wanting it to come on at a set boost level?Also if you are going to use it on a full pass I would put a micro switch on the throtal instead of a hobbs switch.IMO
 
I only want the nitrous to help my car launch. I only plan on using the nitrous for my 60 foot. I like your idea of a hobbs switch.

Here are the jet sizes for a bigger shot
nos fuel
46 30 100hp
52 33 125hp
61 38 150hp
I am going to try the 150 shot and leave at 0psi.
 
I am very interested on how the 150 shot is going to work out.

They didn't say but static is at 40psi I have the sx pump with -8 supply so that souldn't be a problam.
 
mojilla I went to the track today and got a new best 11.10@122.33.I was leaving on the 150 shot and got a 1.65 60' not to bad.It takes less than 2 seconds to spool.I am going to play with the way I am leaving and see if I can get in the 1.50s.I will let you know how it does.
 
the best it had been was 11.27@ 118 mph.Changed to atr headers and a 82 ar turbine housing. My egt's were 1450 today so I now it will go faster.I can only get 6 psi off the foot brake and that is why I put the nos on it.I was leaving on 18 psi on the foot brake with a 63 ar housing and stock headers but was getting alot of back pressure.Made 50 more hp on the dyno by changing headers and housing.my best 60' before was 1.51.
 
Malibuick, thats a great mph, and ET. Its good to see you were not running lean. Maybe with the 1.50 60 and lean it out a little you might hit 10.90.:eek:

Yea I think it will it was like 95 deg and 100% hum. today not the best conditions.The car was very rich going to try agine friday night.
 
Went back to the track tonight and leaving on 10psi and the spray I got 1.500 60' I am happy with that.I found out I need a new waste gate the one I have is about toast.Has some big gaps around the seat.My car also is lowered with who knows what the shocks are and stock welded control arms.So I would say that would be a good 60'.
