Hey, i just got a 85 with 54k original on it and converted it to the 87 with a gbodystore 3" dp, powerplater, hotwire, injectors, chip, basic mods. Just curious what it should be worth because im building a new house right now and thinking about selling it for the moment, then just buying a 87 when i get settled in. The tranny is on its way out, but i can get it an HD rebuilt b4 its sold for a good price.

Sat in a barn for 12 years, so the paint isnt the best, but there is no rust and body only has one ding(and one scratch on the hood) both are very minor.

Let me know what you think,

Thanx
Cody

Hard to say with out seeing it.

Its like anythig though. Its worth what someone is willing to pay. Like my car is realisticly worth $17,000 to $18,000. But I think if I took the right person for a ride, I could get $25,000. Mabye even $30,000.

I just sold my 87 regal with an 87 lc2 motor in it for 5000...mileage unknown, and car only needed rear to be rebuilt...motor was 100% bone stock, unmolested, I added a front mount IC with the intentions of going big on everything, but like you, my house is more important....so...5 k for a conversion that needed a carrier...I coulda prolly got 7K if I fixed the rear, but I didnt want to spend any more than I already did.

Your car, I would guess, if the car doesnt smoke and the trans is fixed, i bet 7k-9k range

Good luck!

John

The car engine wise is perfectly sound. The tranny just needs fixed so you can go wot. It will drive around just fine, but you have to lock into a gear b4 u floor it.

The cars body and engine only have 54k on them

Id consider giving you $6000 for it. Ive been wanting to do this to one of my 85's but havent had the time. If I could get one already done that would be great.

youll consider giving me 6000 for a 85 GN with 54k????

alright then, im going to have to pass

It no longer has 54k miles though. If it still had 54k miles on it and was an original 85 then it would be worth more. Usually GN's with swaps sell between 5 and 9k depending on condition. You said yours needs a tranny and paint so I was figuring its worth in the 6k range.

It still has 54k on it, who said anything about a swap? I did the conversion, still has the 54k engine, just put the 87 parts on it. The engine was not swapped out, i did it the hard way and put the 87 parts onto the 85 engine and tapped the block for the oil feed

I still have all the parts to put it back to an 85 if thats the case. I could just swap the parts back and sell it for more then

Oh ok, I thought you pulled the old motor out and threw an 87 in. Now I get what your saying. Well if you have all the 85 parts that would go with it as well then I would say you could get 8k or a little more for it. I paid I think $9500 three years ago for my 85 GN and it only had 31k all original miles on it with a great paint job and flawless interiorClick herre for pics .

yea, my interior is in great shape. I would have the tranny fixed b4 i tried to sell it anyways, so everything would be ready to go. Only thing that would be needed would be a paint job, but there isnt any rust, so there would be no rush.

I did keep all the original parts so that if i sold it, the buyer would have the option of going stock, or i could do it for them :)

thanx for the input
