I just ordered from pte a 6262bb air cooled, just lookin for feedback on the waterless unit.

concerns

I guess my concerns are mainly a reliability question. I have already ordered the turbo and paid for it $$$$ and then learnd of some failures with some local import and mustang guys. All comments and advice on here is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have installed 7-8 of them in the last 2 years. I had one burn oil which came down to it needing a smaller oil orifice which fixed it.

I have a 6262 journal bearing, with Hye Tech 3" down pipe, external waste gate. Ran time in signature, 1st time to the track with it. Light's up the 275/60-15" M/T at will on the street, at 55 mph on the highway too, just pull it out of OD before going WOT.

I have the 6262 journal and have not had any problems.

84 BuickGNYork PA--I see in your sig. that you ran 127+ in the 1/4 with the 6262. That is a great mph. What is your secret? :)

The turbo got me there... had been running in the 11.6 @ 116 range.

Witha converter swap and running 29psi the entire pass he has a bunch more left in it. The difference is has the balls to run 29psi most others don't. Boost makes power.

84 BuickGNYork PA--What was your 1/8 mile et/mph?

Here is the time slip, I'm the right lane, newer vette in the left lane...
Don't want to high jack the thread, but Bison is right, I need a custom converter from Dusty, to see a better slip. This was a 1.75hr drive to the track, lower the tires to 22 psi and 1 run with powerlogger logging the run. Hang out in the pits, with my friends that met me there and watch them run, then air up the tires and drive home.

To the original post "Broke" you picked a good turbo, I have a manual boost controller in the car and the turbo really wakes up around 24-26 lbs.

How is the spool V6POWER with the 3k T/C? Sorry to hi-jack also :D.

oil restrictor

Is it needed at time of installation of the 6262 ceramic ball bearing unit?

It comes built into the NON removable oil fitting.
We needed one to be smaller and they took care of it when we thought there was a problem.
