I have a TE44 with a garett and had a 49 with a .63 PTE housing and the .63 garett was much more fun on the street.61 dosen't seem like a big up grade from the 44,does anybody have a 67 bb with a .63 garett housing if so did it work? If it did work would be a perfect for me ,crazy street spool and little easier to stay above 11.50's.

Why would you need more than a 44 if all you want is to avoid running faster than 11.50 and have good driveability? The 6776 is a mid 10 second turbo.

44 has side to side play, with 17 inch MT'S the best 60 foot would be 1.70's ,so technically the 44 might not even get me close with 11.50'S.Also probably be better to run a 67 at 19-21 psi than a 44 at 25-27,I think both might be around 118-120 mph?

If all you're looking for is 11.50 then the BB 6776 is not for you. You can get that done with the 44. The 6776 will make enough power to break the stock crank. Oh and that's with the .63 housing.

wheelin, with champion heads and intake and a cam,i would think you wouldn't need 25-27psi to run mid 11's with a 44:confused: even on a 1.70 60ft you should run those numbers.imo, you don't need a 800 horse capable turbo to run mid 11's.get that car to 60ft, there's alot of fun in a good launch:D

Wheelin..

I feel with a 67BB U can run 11.50s all day long on minimal boost. It was nice to know that my car would go at least 11.50 even on a pass where I blew the tires loose. Theres no doubt in my mind that uwould like the 67BB with the .63 housing. Ive been writing for a while that I think people should just get the .85 housing because spool up is instant. Now if ur looking to buy brand new, the 6776BB has been replaced with the 6765 that is supposed to spool up even faster. So based on my 2 cents I would get the 6765bb with the .85 housing set it at 19 or 20 lbs and run 11.50 all day long.

Keep in mind, there would be machine work needed to make your garrett housing work with a new 6776 or 6765

The trim of the exhaust wheel is way different.

in my opinion the Precision .63 on a 6776 will match the fun you've had on the street with reguards to spooling.

An example I posted before. I installed a 6776h turbo on a customers car, with a 3200 stall, if you lined up on the white line at a stop sign, punched it from a dead idle the tires would be lit up before the back crossed the line.

They have no spooling issues.

Stick with the 44 if that's all you're looking for. Remeber a turbo swap requires more fuel and more tuning. Bigger isn't always better. If all I was looking for was 11.50's a 44 would be what I would use.

On the pass in my sig i ran an old T72BB P trim .85 precision. I ran a TE44 .63 exhaust for a couple days before that. I G-teched the TE44 to 127mph at 25 psi on the street. Actually would be about 122.5mph on the strip. After running 126mph at the strip i g-teched in the same spot withthe 72, same ambient, same a/f (11.3:1), boost was 24.5psi and went 131mph. With that being said you should easily be able to run mid 11's with a 44 and your combo at well under 26-27 psi. It should happen at 22 psi and a 1.7 60'. Your not going to gain crap running a 6776 at 19-20psi over a 44. Not worth it and you need a looser converter than the 44 requires. Buy a wideband datalogger and tune it.
