7.5 open to 8.5 posi, driveshaft too long?

Swapped a 7.5 to 8.5 posi rear today. and my driveshaft is almost 1 1/2" too long.
Do i need to look for a driveshaft from an original 8.5 TR?

You just need to cut yours down. Pull the yoke out of the tranny about 1/2 and measure from the center of the U joint to the center of the rear U joint and give the measurement to the drive shaft shop.
