I have a Turbonetics 70BB p-trim turbo that has a little bit of (in and out play). No wheel damage or anything major. About how much is a rebuild for something like this? Thanks

That is normal for BB turbos. This is per Turbonetics. I had mine rebuilt after my Merkel/RCA motor S*** the bed last summer, and the new turbo had in/out play when delivered. If this was a non BB turbo, I'd be concerned. HTH, Brian

are you saying that bb turbos require rebuilds sooner than regular turbos?

Definitely not. It's quite the opposite. What I am saying is, that when I had the same concern last fall, Turbonetics explained to me, the different nature of BB turbos. Some in/out play is expected, but up/down play is not!

I bought a used Innovative and had the same concerns. I talked to Rick at Innovative and that is what he said. The ball bearings units need a little room for expansion, and mine was well within spec.
