72lb injectors for T-netics 61mm BB and 3400 stall

I wanted to get some thoughts on my setup, I'm thinking maybe my injectors are too big for my setup, CPT65 BB ( 61mm wheel ), 72lb'ers of course, and 3400 9X11 stall converter, stock block, cam, and heads.....All thoughts would be appreciated whether good or bad.

injectors are WAY too big.. stock cam and heads? you need heads!! 60lbs are more then plenty... are you still running the stock intercooler? If you are, throw it in the dumpster!

Who cares what size they are with the right tune?

You using a chip or aftermarket engine control?

Should be no issues whatsoever with the size if tuned right.

My 55 low Z's run great on my car, 72 ain't much bigger, what brand are they?

Do a search for the particular injector you are running and see what others have to say about idle, drivability, and WOT response and tuning.

If you use a typical chip email Eric at Turbotweak to see what he thinks about your brand of injectors and see what he can do, if you have a translator system there should be no problem also with the 72's.

I'm running a chip, still deciding whether I should go with turbotweak or an Extreme Extender. I've had an extreme extender and loved how my car ran with a lean tune. Also I like how they read more air at WOT with the Translator Plus. I've heard that Eric's chips idle well but run rich, and I really don't want to run rich..... Keep the suggestions coming!

My turbotweak chip started a tad lean around town with the Bosch 42's greentops, perfect for WOT racing however, alky. chip.

He reburned it after 3 years and it is dead on around town and WOT for alky. plus the new one is adjustable.

I have the Extender Extreme chip, 3.5" MAF, and the 55 low Z's on my other car with stock cam and heads and 163K miles, idles perfect and runs great.

Email Mike L. at Fullthrottle and see what they have for chips for your setup if you want to use the MAFless or extreme stuff.

Both setups should work fine whatever you decide.

Max Effort makes a good chip for 72s.

FWIW... I ran 83's in my bone stock motor with a TE62 and it drove/idled as good/better than the MSD50's that came out.
