Well i finally got around to putting the rear back together and need it to go so i can build my 9" here is what we got=
86' Gn g80 3.42 rear 60k stripped down axle tubes welded then powdercoated semi gloss black.
30 spline eaton posi (19559-1) with new clutches
30 spline moser axles 1/2"x3" studs
new bearings and seals though out
new center pin and bolt
new brakes and hardware (s10 wheel cyls)
new SS hard brake line and ss flex line to the frame
factory gears remain and the clearances seems to be fine reused the shims that were originally the bearings i removed should be a strong setup just add a cover,e-brake cables, and drums!
I do have a set of steel drums that can go with it just need cleaned up along with a stock rear cover but most would probably use a TA girdled cover!
we will start at $1500 obo picked up or maybe a meet up zip is 21047 in MD

I also have a brand new set of upper and lower Metco control arms if someone is interested i could do a package deal!
chris

How much for the upper and lowers shipped to 93551 CA

I would rather no deal with the shipping thing i am more than willing to meet someone a reasonable distance away but i dont think you fit the travel area i would go! Plus it would probably
be pricey to ship to you.
Chris

That's a steal! I just bought everything to rebuild mine and have over 2k in it. What axel bearings did you use? I can't find a part number for the 30spline axel bearings.

The axle bearing/seals are the same as the 28 spline if you are using c-clip axles and yes the parts add up pretty quick on these 8.5"s!
Chris

Just put it in your GN and Run it! I had one like it and my buddy still has one in his set up the same and I went low 10's he is now in the Low 9's off a T brake and its Still C-clip no issues. THis is a really strong combo Id be on it if you were a lot closer ;) good luck with the sale!

why don't ya want to use it??? Although if you did decide to use it do C CLIP eliminaters for safety sake. We drive our car a lot (high9/low10) with the good old Buick one

I was going to use it but did not want to do the c-clip elim.s on it once you put them on there ain't no going back to stock so i decided not to put the 8.5" under the knife and get a 9" being that's basically what your making the 8.5" with the elim.s plus i will probably never break that! but this is a solid rear the way it is and more than likely enough for most people i just like complicating things;)

Just so you know anything can break.. My wifes old TTA in 1991 broke a posi unit in the 9" we put in the car. I mean BROKE :p Good luck with the sale.

That is for sure no matter how much you try and build something bullet proof you always find a weak link but i think a 35 spline though bolt large bearing third member in a braced housing should be pretty strong!
thanks,
Chris

You got someone here who is 98% interested. If still for sale please let me know. I live in south dakota so i dont know how this would work out.. but i am in dying need of a rear end right now.

Shipping is a pain and expensive on a rear i would not have time to deal with that I wanted a local or semi local sale.
