81 na regal 3.8 tranny question

i was going to swap lc2 into 81 na regal

i read that 2004r came out in84, so am i corect in assuming i am going to be stuck using the 350 since there seem to be no provisions for mounting the 2004r crossmember

any help would be greatly appreciated, hoping to get some info on this asap

You're right, the 200-4R's crossmember uses the same mounting pad as the non-OD trans on one side, but not the other. The mounting pad it needs will be missing on an '81 frame.

When I asked about putting a 200-4R in an '82, the trans guy said he does it all the time. That mounting pad can be welded to the frame fiarly easily acccording to him.

Also try www.crossmembers.com. They sell that frame mount but you still need to weld it. They may also have a crossmember that will work but the last time I looked their stuff was really pricey. I would have checked for you but I am posting this from my work PC and big brother has me blocked from websites that use spyware,etc.
