Go to O'reillys, some of them are open until midnight. Mine is. And why is that GN sitting in the rain? Do pushups. Though, don't sell it, you'll regret it. Then again, that car's a VERY stolen model in Michigan, I hope you have a column lock, alarm, and two clubs for it. I know I do.

Yes I couldn't agree more. I'm thankful for everyone of you guys that have helped walk me through my sticky situation. Anyways...puttin it back together is a different story

If that fuel filter hasn't been changed recently, now would be a good time with the access.

its brand new but thanks for the helpful advice... now that im in this far... anything else i should look for to replace or tinker with?

There are bolts holding the cover that go into the water jacket that will need some sealant in them. Also I would use some never seize on the water pump bolts. Steel bolts and aluminum cover aren't a good mix when you or someone needs to replace the water pump the next time.

Looks like you are making progress.

thank you and yes its coming along... im just worried i will mess something up very badly this time because i am good at that and some guys on my other threads are saying this is a "disaster waiting to happen"

If I'd listened to those nay sayers I would've never figured out that you can do a turbo upgrade on a draw through car.;) Take your time and if you've got a question ask. Never feel dumb about asking a question.

None of them had experience their first time either. You are fine.

Did you pack the oil pump with Vaseline or are you planning on the priming tool? Oil the lip on the seal before you slip it on to the crank and bolt the cover on.

Just take your time and don't try to cut corners.

The pic above shows it . You have to pull the cover that the oil filter screws onto off. Under it is the gears that make the oil pump. If there is too much clearance between the gears and the cover, oil pressure and volume suffer. Earl Brown, inventor of the Earl Brown oil pump mod has been posting. If you search earl brown oil pump mod you should get plenty of info on the subject.
Usually I just check the clearance with plastigauge. If it is too much I rub the cover down with fine grit sand paper on some glass to flatten out the cover and take up the clearance. Ta performance sells gaskets of different thicknesses to set the clearance.

I don't have a manual in front of me so I'm not sure of what the clearance should be. I'm sure someone will post up.
