Follow the thread in th B4Black section for some ideas. It's not going to be a normal resto and the mods I'm doing should help you some.

What is the best quality paint I can get for a reasonable price? Im willing to drop about 800-1k in paints for this car. Me and my dad are going to do all the body prep work, and painting ourselves, so no labor needed! Who's the best brand? So, IIRC this is what I need:

Body Filler - Have
Sand-able primer
Reducer
catalyst
and finally the Paint

We've got some good body guys that hang out in the B4Black section. Adam (WarWagon), Jase, and Matt (Matt231) know their stuff and have posted some info for my rustomod. LOL Pm one of them about paint. I'm sure they'll help you.

Okay, I will. I am slowly getting my rust repaired. I just haven't had the chance to upload pics. I will ASAP. Thanks for all your help again Charlie!

If you cannot get Dad to build more garage for you, you might be able to come up with a smaller "work area"- maybe pour a small concrete pad just so you can be out of the dirt and then simply use a small canopy like the kind you see at car shows.... Yes I know it's not ideal, but it's cheap and easy and I figure you'd rather spend your cash on the car than building a place to work on it... (for now at least)

BTW, don't get frustrated. You've taken on a very big project... Just take your time and when it gets to be too much, just walk away and leave it sit for a while... Come on tb.com and play around, look at what other people have done, etc... it will give you inspiration and motivation and then you'll be ready to go once again...

Good Luck.

Thanks Turbo, That is wht we are planning to do right now. We have flattened the area with our tractor, and now we are looking for the cheapest posisble concrete.

We have figured about $1500 to pour the inside of the shop and an extra pad out side for a lift. It won't be to soon but I think we will get to it before the snow flies at least. Price around and see what someone wants to bring it to you and then see if you can get a company with a tow behind rig. There's one here and the trailer containes 1 cubic yard. Little cheaper but you have to do all the work.

Our slab isn't very big. We figured about 7 Cu. Yds. of material. I think it is about 100$ per unit.. So probably about 700-800 for the slab.

RE: vinny

Hello everyone. I am starting the process of restoring my 84 Grand National. I picked this up in August after searching for one in my price range. Since I had only about 2500, I had to find a fixer-upper and I sure did! She runs, drives, and sounds really good! The only problem is body work so far! The interior is in shambles however.. Here are some pics from today's work. Hopefully I will post more pics of my project, and someday.. The finished product ,

Enjoy!

If you think the rust you have now is bad wait until you start taking it apart. But Woah those floors are bad lol.My 86GN came from Boston Ma,last time I buy a car from MA.If you car is anything like mine, your going to need body mounts my were beyond gone. .I drove it about 2 weeks ago and took a sharp turn,The whole driver floor pan ripped out.My floor pan was like yours so be careful.Anyway good luck you have a lot of work ahead of you.
