I have a 85 hot air gn that i restored.I have the oem Vac diagram for the 2 vac wastegate.I am looking for a diagram for bypassing the solonoids on the valve cover and to a adjustable valve for boost control...If anyone has any info just reply,or PM me. Thanks

Are you talking about a adjustable wastegate??? That's how most of us adjust boost...

yeah..i have all the original boost control and solonoids with the vacs hooked to those but i want to take all that off and make it adjustable...thanks

no not on the turbo..there is a plate bolted to the valve cover with the boost control solonoid and something else with electrical plugs to them.I am trying to plumb all my vac lines, and run the adjustable line inside the car to adjust my boost manually. Where do i tie in at?

thread the rod like the above post and adjust it that way. there is no reason to remove the factory solonoid but you can. you can either leave all the vac. lines hooked up like the factory or you can disconnect them. IMOP just leave the factory lines hooked up. you really shouldn't need to adjust the boost on the fly.

I use the RJC manual boost valve...

I was having overboosting issues using the stock type solenoid.

The manual boost valve corrected this problem and also let the car get to full boost faster due to the factory solenoid bleeding boost off.

I run a hose from the port on the scroll of the turbo, to the boost in side of the valve and then the boost out side of the valve goes to the port on the wastegate closer to the turbo. Not the port closer to the driver's side but towards the passenger side. The driver's side port I have open to the atmosphere no ill effects that I know of yet.

By the way, I eliminated the egr and the boost solenoid and it makes the driver side valve cover way cleaner.

I then covered it up with intercooler pipes though.

it would be nice to have a knob yo ucan turn in the car to adjust boost on the fly- right up until you accidentally crank it all the way up and break stuff.

I have a turbonetics adj-a-boost knob, not installed tho. This reason was in part but mostly due to no reason on adjusting boost at my current level:rolleyes: Maybe when I get heads,TA33, cam kit,ALky.

Then install my deltagate and 2.5 DP.

I went out and looked at my car...

I gave wrong info earlier; it is the outer most port on the wastegate (towards the driver's side).

I'm sorry guys.

awsome...you hit the nail on the head...now to eliminate the EGR.Do you you just block it off with a plate, and put a NPT plug in the rear port?...if so do you still need the electronics plugged in so it doesnt throw codes?

If you have a TT chip no...

I think eric deletes the egr function in his chips. If not he did on mine. I dont have an egr or the solenoid on my car anymore and no codes.

Yep just block it off with a plate and a pipe plug.
