Welcome aboard! I'm predicting some major headaches ahead for you. Just always remember: chicks dig hotairs more! and that'll make it all worth it. :D

It can be done, and if your pretty mechanically apt, and know a good deal about how these cars function engine wise, (and you like challenges),... then a big factor to consider is getting all the necessary parts to do it. Not a lot of options have been put on the market for this "upgrade" for the 84/85 cars. But once you spend a little time on these buick boards, I'm sure you can find just about everything you need from somebody wanting to sell.
The search function up at the top of this page... use it like its your best friend. As a rule of thumb, I always use at least 3 differant sets of words to try to find what I'm looking for before I post. Probably anything you ever want to know has already been posted, about a 100 times. So asking questions on things that have been covered hundreds of times will understandably get you ignored by a lot of fellow members. No ones being rude, but its kind of silly for members to constantly retype when you can simply do a search. I was guilty of this when I started, and hell, I still do it.
A alternative you may want to consider is using alcohol as a intercooler. Once again, use the search function. Hours of info on this to read up on in here. Good luck with the car, I'll try and help you out best I can, I'm still a newbie myself.

I looked into it and decided the cost and labor of putting on an intercooler was in my goals. I got to my goals other ways which include Alky(~$600) was cheaper and akot easier. Alot have people have converted over and it does work. The easiest way is to get an 86/87 donor car/engine. Good luck-Brad
