Hi,
Are the 86-87 ECM's identical?
I thought the connector plugs were different.
Anyway, I'm checking my 86 ECM harness for power and ground, but i only have an 87 shop manual.
Are the pinouts the same for 86 and 87?

The connections are identical. The harness connectors have slightly different locking mechanism, but interchangable.

ok thanks.
for some reason i thought the 87 connector plugged strait to the green circuit board.
i may of got this idea from looking at some NA cars in the junkyard.

That is what happened, the N/A cars are usually carb'd and use the edge card connector type of ECM harness connectors.

The '86 & '87 turbo cars use the same 1227148 ECM. Which was also used in other non-turbo SFI cars.

AFAIK, the '86 & '87 turbo cars used the same pin-out and most likely the same harness. They did use different knock filters, but other then the # of poles they are the same specification.
