I"m considering installing a 3" lt1 maf in place of the original maf on my 86 GN. Other than a 3" maf and maf translator, what other items will I need to make the switch over to the lt1 maf? Thanks for your input.
 
Just the MAF and the translator. Maybe some differrent hose couplers, but you wont know that until you're into the job.
 
What intake do you have? I had to use reducers for my stock maf that came with my kirban's (Tomka) 3 1/2" cold air. When I switched to the LS1 maf it was a perfect fit! I think LT1 is 3" though.

X2, Dave is right, that should be all you need, and yes the LT1 MAF is 3".
