Hey Guys, I just bought New 86 Gn with T's 78k miles. I have started the build and will be finished with it the 22nd of this month. It was already an 11 sec car with a TA49 and a few goodies, but I wanted a 10 sec street driven GN to go along with the devistating looks and possible 9 sec duty as well. Conley's Performance plus is doing all the work, since they have a reputation in Houston TX and around for building tons of power and doing it right! Just a few things; TE 45 a, 60# inj, rebuilt fo 9sec duty 200r4 with Art carr 4000 stall none lockup with transbreak, alky system, One of Conleys Best set ( and pricey) Aluminum heads with porting, stage 1 cam, new fuel system, and iginition system, Terry Houston Down pipe 3 or 3.5 inch, cant remember off hand, and of Course the chip burned for 93 and 108+ if needed. We are building for enough power to go 125-127mph on 93 gas 1/4 with reletive low boost 20-21#'s. These are just a few of the goodies, but have left alot out. I am very excited to finally join you bad GN guys. I will keep you updated. I will need to get the suspension soon to lay down the power, but all these funds are taking a hit on my $$ so will have to deal it later

Just a question. What parts are you putting into the tranny to make it 9 second duty? HOW MUCH $$
Dave

To be honest with you, I am not sure ? I beleive they said it would be good for this, but may be wrong. All i know, is it was the best they offered and cost close to $2000. Either way, for a while will not have to worry about the tranny being my weak link

What do you think of the combo? From what I have been told and seen, its really good:) Thanks for the reply

Only odd thing I see is a 93 chip. No sense in burning a 93 chip if you have an alky system. You should have them burn you a nice 100 octane alky chip and a 108 chip for the race gas.

Most people on here are able to run 23+ lbs of boost on alky and slightly less timing than what is on that 108 chip.

I did not know that. I will bring this up and see. Thanks for the info and help

Welcome. Combo sounds like a winner. Most people would say 72 # injectors as a minimum for the 45. You will have to come out to the event in Temple on March 5th. It is a fun event and a good group of Buick people. I live in Kyle and will be headed down to San Antonio Raceway to try and get my GN into the mid/low 11's. My best time is 11.92 and my brakes wouldnt let me build any boost. Brakes are fixed and I need to dial in the translator. We shall see.

Thanks for the reply and sounds like you will do good in San An. Lawrence Conley thought the injectors would do fine for now, since we arnt going to retune and go FAST systems yet or something. HIs son runs the same as I and it realy kicks butt to:cool: What dates will you definitly be at the track and I will come out and see the runs. I havnt seen any GN's out here, but 1 and never at track
