My question is when you swap out the 85 ECM for the 87 ECM do you simply plug it in? I know that I have to wire the new MAT to the 87 ECM. I have a TOMCO MAF which is compatable with 84-87 ECM. Also, will I have to re-tune the car? It is tuned perfectly now. The reason for the conversion it that I am going to put on Alky injection and need better chip availability. Thanks- Brad

I didn't have to retune my car, just had to have a chip burned to work in the 87 ecm. If you follow the directions on gnttype.org you should be fine.

add two terminals for the iat

and one if up grading to a electric fan

use 87 chips and good to go

87 Ecm

I just plugged mine in along with an 87 MAF and ran great. Didnt even use MAT sensor., Oh but I also used the caspers plug adapter for a 87 module and coil pack.

Hope this helps
Matt
