First official kill in the Grand National this morning.
I'm not counting that Turbo PT Cruiser the other day....CRRRRRUSHED IT!!!!!
:-)
Old lady in that PT had it coming...

Audi S4 Avant.
Those are supposed to be making about 340 HP from a V8 and go 0-60 in 5.3 if the advertisement is correct.
...but they weigh about 4000 lbs.
I admittedly got a slight jump on him, but I kind of rolled into WOT off the line so I think it was a fair fight since I was waiting on boost those first few feet.

Pulled away from him in 1 and 2 until he showed up in the mirror, and kept him in my rear view from there. Added a little more distance at the top of 3. He never was able to close at all, but other than that foot or three I opened at the top of 3rd, he did keep me from pulling away further once he got into his power band.

Means I gotta add more power...these things must be decisive!!!!

He finally gave up when it was clear he wasn't going to show me anything.
I had him by about 2+ lengths.
It felt good cuz this same guy beat up on my bone stock 97 GTP once, so I owed him one. He's lucky I haven't found him while in my Camaro yet....grrrrrr...

My GN combo is relatively stock. Recently installed TT chip with 60lb injectors, AFPR and a Walbro with a hotwire. Everything else is stock with 99K miles on it.

I kept it responsible....not even an insect was harmed by my windshield.

glad to hear ur lookin out for the insects, just dont swerve to save them like people do with dear:eek:

nice kill bud! still really waiting for my first one on my new alky setup!

cool beans Tim, i take it vac line fix = no knock eh;)

Tru dat!
Replacing that WG vac line eliminated the audible knock and if I get any at all, the KR pretty much stays under 1.0.

Since the repair, I have had two romps from about 40mph where the KR hit at 3.0 +/- a couple tenths, with O2 mv in the mid 700's, so I might try adding fuel in the upper gears through my ScanMaster.

Yeah, I dont know what it is about those PT cruisers

I had two incidents with them and both were older people, crazy thing is I was in my El Camino, The second time I didnt even let the other person even try to catch up, Just nailed to the floor and Buy Bye..........
Word to the wise if your in SoCal Riverside, San Bernardino area, I was told of one that will Smash My car and it drives on the street, This guy knows turbo's and its probably a low 11 to high 10 car.

A 10 second PT cruiser????

Holly crap..that'd make me shoot myself if I watched one of those pull away like I was stuck in mud.

I remember one race I had in my 1st 68 Camaro back in high school daze. That Camaro was a mid 14 second car. I was sitting at a light with a carload of buddies riding along, and a VW bug pulled up and started rev-ing his engine at me. Me and my buddies were laughing at it.:D :D The cute little stinger sticking out of it's butt and it's half open engine hatch was just too much.

Light turned green.
All I heard was that think leave and that was it.
He was gone before I even got through the intersection.

I had to beat a few friends up to make sure they stayed quiet.

Maybe the PT Cruisers are the Escort GT's of today. Back in the late 80's when I would pull up to a stop light next to a Z-28, 5.0, or even a Vette we would leave like civilized people. Pull up next to an Escort GT the driver would start reving the engine and making the car jump with the clutch. When the light would turn green they would leave like John Force. When I played catch up, it would be over by the middle of 2nd.

I get that a lot when driving around in my 68 Camaro. Everybody wants to race it. The ones that are the most bothersome are the WRX/STi/Evo/SRT 4 crowd. I usually see these guys doing everything they can to get lined up with me. Then when they do, when the light goes green, I just roll in nice and easy off the line and give them the jump....then I bring the thunder of 550 big bock horsepower and 575 lb feet of TQ down on them and floor it.

I'm normally passing them mid way through second with my back end kicking around and wheels a smokin'. I rarely take it into 3rd

I also get a lot of attention from various Mustangs and GTO's. For whatever reason, the SRT8/Hemi crowd leaves me alone.

I have yet to lose in the Camaro. I know there are badder cars out there, but they have not found me yet. I did decline a challenge from a guy in an El Camino with a blown big block. That car sounded flat out pissed off. After I declined, he fessed up to 1300HP. That woulda been ugly.

My top kill to date in the Camaro was on a Saleen Extreme Stang. We were even in 1 and 2 but in 3 I just walked away, and in 4 he gave up.

The closest race in the Camaro was against a black 07 Cobra GT convertable that obviously had some work done.
I found him while he was sitting at a light late one night. His plates said VENIM....something.

Nothing but empty road ahead of us.
I got out by about 1/2 car on him through 1 and 2, and maybe added another few inches up through 3 and 4. I went into 5 and he still hung with me pretty well.

We were doing and easy 140 when we shut it down.

I'm pretty sure a few insects died in that one. Totally irresponsible!

My daily driver is a PT that I bought on 9-11. I love it but you have NO IDEA how tempting it is to put a GN drivetrain in one as a hybrid. Major project but I can picture this PT with little wheelie bars driving around with a tubbed rear end on the street.

Don't have that kind of money so it's just a dream.

You'd have to mid-engine a PT with a Toronado transaxle. Never get a V6 between the fenders. However, how cool would that be?

What is Up with these Turbo PT Cruisers??????

Just had a lady think she could hang with the El Camino, we were definitely going over 120, but after I let her know this El Co was no punk I pulled over out of the fast lane and let her know I slowed down just to gloat......... Oh well..

If you cant hang with the El Co you definitlely cant hang the GN:cool:
