Nobody knows for sure.

My guess has always been 1 in 11 cars.

My GN has one. :)

So does my WE4.

Great spring, summer, fall, option, not so good tonight in the ice storm.

They say about 2560 astro roof cars were made in 87 but that figure is for all Regal models.

Guess I should of kept mine. :frown: I also had a factory 86 Astro roof GN.

i havean 86 t type with astro roof and digital climate control. never looked in to that. Carlos

My 86 T-Type has the Astroroof Roof, Digital touch climate, twilight sentinal, posi and 45/45 leather seats.

I think that the rare part off the Astroroof mystic comes from GM producing a mistake that should not have been produced, which is the Astroroof w/ PWR DRIVER seat. This was a option that was a mistake GM wasn't suppossed to produce due to lack of headroom, but an unknown number left the factory this way.
I have heard anywhere from 1-50 to 1-500, but who knows

My 87 limited T has the power seat, astroroof, and the beautiful puffy landau top. my kids call it the grandma car, then my son adds that grandma just smoked ya

My astroroof also has the power driver's seat. I have to admit, it has noticeably less headroom than a hardtop. It's hard to beat the open roof with no loss of body rigidity.

Ok thanks for hi-jacking my thread guys/gals. ;). So another question, I pulled my headliner down (years) ago. It's a slow project :) and it didn't have any headliner "cardboard" material there. Does it not have any material so to speak there? Anybody know? I am used to seeing some backbone material there. Not so in this case.

It should have a foam based headboard, with a big hole in the middle for the sunroof.

It's white and should have greenish/brown residue on it from the foam backing color depends on dryness or rottedness. :p

Not sure what was holding your cloth up if it didn't have one to begin with?

If yours didnt have the back board than it means that your original headliner from the factory was replaced along the lines and they didnt use the original board when putting it in. I have an 85 GN with an aftermarket astroroof installed in it and it doesnt have a backboard on it. Maybe you dont have a factory astroroof in your car and thats why it didnt have a shell. To see if your astroroof is factory look on the roof of the car. Look where the opening is cut out for the glass and if the metal is just rolled over with no trim on the roof then its a factory one. Most aftermarket ones have a piece of trim that goes around the hole that is cut in the roof.

Looking at the option codes in the trunk might work also.
