Hello,

I’m new to the forum and about to buy my first 87 Grand National. I was hoping for some opinions on this price. The seller is the third owner and has had the car for about 6 months. I know the second owner who had it for about ten years. I know I won’t be able to answer all the questions you have for me, but here is what I do know about the car:
New paint and interior in 1995
A/C, P/S, P/B, P/W, P/L, tilt wheel
Deltrans and 3000 convertor in 1997
New cam, lifters and timing chain in 1998
Heads and intake ported in 1999
Heated 02
Kenny Bell ram air with 14” air filter
3” ATR exhaust
Adjustable boost regulator in car
Adjustable fuel regulator
PT 61 turbo with S cover
ATR Blow off valve
65lb injectors
3.73 posi rear
Boxed upper and lower control arms
Air bags in rear springs
XP dual fuel pumps
The bottom end is stock with 98,000 miles on it but the leak down test was good. The car ran 11.60 with no tuning and a bad single fuel pump. Powermaster brakes are in need of service. The pedal is hard all the time. He is asking 16,000 firm. Also the car has always been garage kept and is very clean.
Thanks in advance for any help.
David

Dont pay that much for that car. You would be better off looking around a little. Check out the Cars for Sale section on this forum. You'll find a lot better deals if you are patient. In my opinion, I would say that car is worth around $10K but not $16K.

Thanks for the input. I just have not run across any 87 Grand Nationals for sale that will do 10's or low 11's yet ! I have
been looking for about 3 months.
Thanks again David

Check this car out!! This is Jay Jackson's car. It is probably the nicest WE4 that I have ever seen. Everybody on this board also knows Jay and how professional he is with his cars. He does custom PLenum work and many of us have his parts on our cars. I dont want him to sell it because there are not very many of us with GN's in this area but this is a FANTASTIC car and he is only asking $12K for it. Very well worth the price!! Check it out and you'd be suprised. ------Jeremy

Thanks again for your help, but I'm looking for a hard top car, that car is very nice.

$16000 should buy a pristine, and I mean pristine, drop dead gorgeous, GN. Does that describe the car you're looking at?

It is very clean. Cars sell alittle high in Maryland !
But I also feel it is priced a bit high. Thanks
David
