87 Regal T ???

I just bought this car and it seems to be original 87 Regal T package black hardtop w/chrome package but it has a N/A V6 with a 3 speed auto trans gray bucket console inter roll up windows NON tilt wheel it has the correct sport T steering wheel the correct 15x7 alum T wheels with the correct emblems in place ..Anyone ever see a regular V6 T in 87 was it a possible option ? ...I know they had the V8 Ts i've owned about 4 of those thats what i thought this was until i opened the hood

Interresting, have you checked the option codes and VIN? It should have a Y56 and or a WE4 code if it came stock with those wheels. These

No WE4 if it has a chrome pkg and a NA v6. We4 was like the WE2 and included the Turbo V6 and black out trim.

Sounds like it needs a drivetrain upgrade.

Yes sir, the Y56 option code.

It's just N.A with the WE2, WE3, and WE4 cars ( not sure on years but this is for 1987). That is probaly because most of that stuff already comes on those cars I guess? So do these N/A cars with eth Y56 code or Touring package have the "T" badging like a T-type Regal?

Sounds like you have a Regal with the "T" package. Not very many made with the 3.8NA motor. And if I read the option list correctly since you do not have a tilt wheel that means you also dont have the delay wipers or cruise control. Am I correct?

Yup i checked the RPO code today Y56 NO tilt delay wipers or cruise control Wow neat car i never seen one in the 10 years i been into these cars must be a pretty low production

It's been a while since I've seen the non-turbo T package. Flat hood and single exhaust pipe are the most notable items.

A way to decipher which engine the car had (if the hood was closed) was to look inside at the transmission selector, console or column mount.

>> 3 speed (no OD) = NA V6
>> 4 speed (w/ OD) = Olds 307

I've seen one in my hometown too. I past it at an intersection and it was a plain jane regal, wire hub caps, flat hood with a T badging. I scratched my head all day after seeing it. Thats the only one I've ever seen though.

My 87 Limited has a T package, but is a Turbo car.
