87 stock turbo thrust clearance

How many thousands of an inch of thrust "play" is acceptable for a stock turbo?

Should it have any thrust movement at all?

should spin with no thrust movement at all. If you can feel it then the thrust bearing is either going or gone. Hope this helps.
