I know we should tune to somewhere around high 700's to low 800's, but I don't have an adjustable regulator (in the process of buying one this week). But just how much performance am I robbing until then running this rich? Also don't have a boost guage yet but on the scan tool (otc 85) I turned up the boost to the tune of 1-2* knock retard (the factory guage reads up to 15psi). So I was just wondering how much I am going to gain when I lower the fp (which is at 42psi car running vac line off). Thanks for your help.

900 is PIG RICH .you will gain a lot by tuning it properly.

pig rich

That's what I was figuring. I'll hopefully have that regulator by then end of this week or the beginning of the next. Thanks.

a Boost guage would be a good idea as well. I run mine at about .820 and it seems to like this when doing the quarter. However each car has different sweet spots due to their performance parts and what you have burnt in your chip...

890 - 900 O2 volts

If you are using an OTC scan tool this is not rich at all. The OTC reads about 100mv's higher than other scan tools.

how fast does it run with that kinda fuel? mine was 860+ and i ran a best of 15.1 with a ****ty 60' time.. which translates into, 14.9 if i launched with a 2.20 like i did my last run instead of 2.32 ;p

i turned my fp down to 38 PSI and redid my chip to put a little less fuel in.. and bam, it feels much violent.. hopefully with my eleet driving skills i can pull off a 13.x and get some type of respect ;p

I dont know how you test and tune, but make sure you do it with race fuel! 100 unleaded even.. very good stuff i NEVEr see a degree of knock with it.. you just cant help but get a couple degrees of retard on 93, .. but on one chip i messed up just a little bit, and even with 100 my knock gauge lit up like a xmas tree on the 2-3 shift (into the red!) so watch out.

start by getting your idle blm's up (they're probaly really low with that kinda FP)

then work on the chip to get the proper fueling. PE vs RPM trim.

 I don't get it?? Is this rich using an OTC 85 MONITOR? Boostmaster stated that the otc's read about 100 higher then the others. Can someone with another scan tool please tell me what their o2's read with the key on, but the car off. Wouldn't this give me the answer I'm looking for since the cars should read the same in that position? Mine reads .490 Thanks

I don't recall seeing this with my OTC versus a DMM (digital multimeter).

I don't know if there would be any value to a key on, engine off reading. There sensor's output is very temperature dependent. Without exhaust gas, it's probably meaningless.

Try using a DMM connected directly to oxygen sensor. This will rule out the OTC.

I was just wondering about the values when the car is off because I figured that they would be the same on all cars (about) when the car is off because they would be roughly the same temp...maybe I'm just retarted  But I'll also go out and pull a plug and see what's going on there. Thanks and I'll let you guys know what I find.

I did a search on here and it seems that the otc does in fact read higher?? And looking at the plugs, it seems that that also could back up that theory because they don't look fouled the least. But does anyone know why the otc would measure like this? I find that hardly accurate. Also, I couldn't find anything stating that the VERY old otc monitor 85 (like mine) was different, but somewhere someone stated that the older ones might read like the other scan tools. Not sure if I read correctly. I guess I'll have to spring for a dmm to see what's going on. Thanks guys for all the information.

Well, did some research on this and found out from an expert (Some guy by the name of LeeO) that the OTC in fact reads the same as DS on the O2's.

2 Years Late and $100 short .......... ;)
