I'm a firm believer in these converters now. I had a practically brand new D5 Red Stripe converter come apart and ruin my recently rebuilt tranny. I decided to go non-lockup and use a real Art Carr (CPT's) 9" converter. Man, talk about bang for the buck! I thought with a ~3100-3200 stall that it might be too loose for my setup. Boy was I wrong. I don't really know how much slip it has, but it tears down low and continues to pull throughout the RPM band, even at high speeds up top. A definite seat of the pants difference.

I drive slow as piss on the highway, so the reduced gas mileage isn't really an issue to me. Plus, she's not my daily driver.

I recommend this converter to everyone, regardless of their setup. I would only advise against using it if your TB is a long distance daily driver, which I'm sure those are far and few between.

BTW, I would seriously advise against any of the Red/Orange Stripe converters.
