Hey Guys,
I bought a billet A/C Clutch cover and it comes with a small piece of pipe to thread into the A/C clutch. Somewhere along the line...the thread changed and it does not fit. I'm going to make a new piece, but I cannot get my thread gauges into the clutch far enough to an exact fit. I believe it's either 16 or 18 teeth, but if someone has the correct diameter and thread count...that would be great.

Thanks

I had my factory compressor in the shop so I checked to make sure it was metric with my AC hub tool. I checked the thread pitch with a gauge and it is definitely 1.5 but the best I could do with what I had in the shop was measure the clutch tool diameter which gave me 21.83 to 21.95. This would work out to be M22 x1.5. Not sure if you were aware or not but there are metric and standard thread clutches for R4 compressors, perhaps this is the issue you are having with fitment?

I believe right hand. The billet nose was left. The adapter has a set screw in the center so you can tighten it down once it's screwed into place.

Thanks, my billet nose is still on the old compressor. Have not been able to get it off, maybe I have been beating on it the wrong way. Again thanks

Try a 7/8-14 thread. This is what I measured on a clutch hub removal tool that I purchased many years ago. I originally used it on a '68 A6 compressor, and since then on a '85 R4 compressor on both a Camaro and a Buick Regal. Used it last week on a '92 R4 compressor.

The adapter piece that I have is a 7/8-14 and it does not work

Well that's no good. Possible that the threads are buggered some?
