Release the glove box so you can see behind it. Look to make sure the lever that moves the blend door isn't broken or that the retaining clip for the cable is actually holding the cable sheath. The other end of the cable hooks to the hot - cold lever on the hvac controls. Work it back and forth so you can observe the cable action.
