Trying to decide which wastegate to purchase. HD or stock. I'm not running alcohol just straight 93. Can I run a HD and just be careful with boost? I will eventually go with Razor's kit next year. Also with bumping the turbo from a TE60, will I need to upgrade my TT chip? Will I need to relocate the IAC with the 4 inch inlet? Has anyone had the exhaust housing ceramic coated and how much? Is a 3000 stall convertor enough for this turbo? 99% street car

No, you need a standard actuator if you plan on running 93 octane, especially with the differences from one station to the next. Sure the pump says 93, but it all depends on how old the gas is, it might actually only be 90 octane if it's been sitting for awhile. Get the standard actuator and keep the boost at a rock steady 16-17psi. With the HD actuator, you will be very hard pressed to keep the boost close to 18psi, typically 19-20psi is very common with that turbo. You will also need to port the wastegate hole on your turbine housing to just smaller than your downpipes' wastegate puck. If the downpipe puck meaasures 1.35", then mark your housing with regards to where the puck falls on the housing when it's bolted up, then port the hole just smaller then the puck. Typically 1.10" to 1.00" is fine for maintaining good boost control.

You will definitely need to have your TT chip reburned as you went from a turbo that supported up to 580 flywheel hp, and now you have one that will support 785 easily. 60# Mototron injectors are highly recommended for this turbo as well.
You do not need to touch the IAC if you order the turbo with an S compressor cover. (PT6776RS version) You will need to do something with it, if you opt for the H compressor cover tho. I got away with just undoing the weather pack connectors' wire cover and bent the wires out of the way of my 4" MAF pipe on my setup.
Here is a link where you can see pics of my 6776RHP installed on my current '87 Turbo T.

Exhaust coatings are fine and all, but are a hassle, especially if they get coating on the inside of the housing and or bolt holes. Honestly, you'd be better off painting the housing yourself with 1500* high temp paint.
You must have a converter that will stall to 3200-3400 rpms at zero boost to really spool the dual ball bearing 6776 turbo fast.
Hope this helps.

as always...

thanks for the input Patrick. I thought I was getting a "S" cover but I got an "H" cover instead. So the "H" will probably hurt the spool a bit? I am sending the turbo to Precision tomorrow to have the exhaust housing changed from a "Supra" style to a .63 Buick housing. I figured while it was there that they could do a wastegate for me. Would they cut the compressor side so it would work with my PTE stock location? I would rather not cut the intercooler. Thanks
